The Mountain Sports International (MSI) story starts in 1996 in the quaint mountain town of Crested Butte, Colorado. In the pursuit of powder, Adam Comey and Dave Swanwick (Swany) discovered the demand for action and adventure sports events. In conjunction with several influential players, Comey and Swany helped pioneer the sport of competitive freeskiing in North America with the invention of the Freeskiing World Tour. Their experiences in snow sports events quickly developed into a unique set of marketing competencies, which transferred to many event formats for a variety of clients including Red Bull, The North Face, Burton and others.
MSI was founded as a private company in 1997 and relocated to Salt Lake City, UT in 2002. Today it functions as a full service nontraditional marketing agency specializing in matching clients with targeted demographics through authentic brand experiences and activations. MSI is motivated by challenging and innovative opportunities that redefine consumer interaction with our clients’ brands.
In conjunction with our sister company MSI Live, MSI is now able to connect audiences with their favorite sports anywhere in the world via satellite or television delivery. MSI matches brand and culture, company and credibility to create sought-after events that turn fans into loyal customers.
